Rudy Wiedoeft and the C melody sax lead to an explosion of young people becoming Saxophone players during the 1920s. With C melody sax both Piano and low brass players could easily learn the instrument since no transposition was required to play. So saxophone music like solo piano playing was so prevalent and available that the record company didnt record piano and saxophone solos. Since most homes had a piano and/or saxophone player in the household. So only famous soloist got recorded and none was more prolific than Rudy Wiedoeft. He composed and played his own material and everyone followed his style. A truly energies saxophone player that drove the best out of his sax along with tricks make most of his recording a true delight to listen too.
